Ina Garden is an American cookbook author who has been awarded Emmy Awards. She is the host of the longest-running Food Network show Barefoot Contessa. The show began in 2002. The show will run for another 27 seasons. Ina began working in the White House as a writer of documents on nuclear energy as well as the budget. Ina initially enjoyed the intellectual stimulation of the job, but eventually, she lost the interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty store for food. Prior to selling the company, she spent an entire 18 years transforming it into a highly successful store. A number of other cookbooks and magazine columns were later published. Meanwhile she also had her own Food Network show was also successful. Additionally, she sells items including food-related ingredients, storage containers and tools. Ina never went to any cookery schools nor was she employed in a dining establishment. She is entirely self-taught. Ina is well-known for her easy style of entertainment as well as her simple cooking.
