Ina Garten is an American author of cookery books as well as Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's oldest program Barefoot Contessa which began broadcasting in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons until 2020. Ina started her career as a writer in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy documents. Her first impression was that her job as stimulating intellectually, however she soon lost interest, and opened a speciality store for food named Barefoot Contessa. It took her 18 years to turn the store into wildly successful, before she closed it. Then she began writing one of her cookbooks. After that, several books were released and she also wrote magazine columns. Meanwhile, her Food Network television show too began its run and was a huge success. She sells many things, from food ingredients cooking to kitchenware and storage. Ina did not go to an institution for cooking or worked at a restaurant. Ina is a self-taught cook. She's known for her easygoing approach to cooking and entertaining. Her most famous recipes are Lemon chicken skeillet-roasted and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, balsamic-roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
